6 Douglas Lake, TN Camping Spots

Douglas Tailwater Campground

Douglas Tailwater Campground is a Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) recreational area.

This campground can be found by the western end of Douglas Lake in Kodak, TN.

There are 61 campsites, most of which are directly on the French Broad River. The vast majority of the campsites include electric and water hookups, though there are 3 primitive tent sites too. All sites have picnic tables and fire pits or grills.

Other amenities at Douglas Tailwater Campground include bathhouses, a dump station, and a camp store.

Spend your camping trip out on Douglas Lake by taking advantage of the campground’s fishing area and boat ramp.

Douglas Headwater Campground

Douglas Headwater Campground is another TVA public recreation area. Nearby Douglas Tailwater Campground, this one is right next to the Douglas Dam looking out at the lake.

Douglas Headwater Campground has 60 campsites. Four of these are primitive tent sites and the remainder have electric and water hookups.

Enjoy your stay on Douglas Lake by using this campground’s boat ramp and swimming beach.

Griffin Island Campground

Griffin Island Campground is on the southern side of Douglas Lake near Sevierville, TN.

There are a variety of camping options at this campground. There are sites for tents and RVs, as well as fully equipped RVs available to rent.

Campers can get out on Douglas Lake using Griffin Island’s pontoon and paddleboat rentals and boat ramp. Or, enjoy the views of the lake from the campground’s two waterfront decks.

Terry Point Campground

Terry Point Campground is in Dandridge, TN.

This large campground is for RVs only (no tent camping). The 171 sites include full or partial hookups. Other campground resources include laundry, showers, and a store.

Terry Point Campground offers a boat launch and fishing for fun-filled camping trip on Douglas Lake. Once you’ve had your fill of the lake, enjoy the campground’s rec room, swimming pool, and snack bar.

Anchor Down RV Resort

Anchor Down RV Resort is right on Douglas Lake’s waterfront towards the western end of the lake.

This campground has 170 RV sites with full hookups and fire pits. Campers staying here have access to bathhouses, cable TV hookups, laundry, and a camp store.

Families will have plenty of activities to stay entertained on their Douglas Lake camping trip. Throughout the resort you’ll find a boat ramp, a sandy beach for swimming and volleyball, a water park, and more.

Inspiration Point Campground

Inspiration Point Campground is in the Muddy Creek area of Dandridge, TN.

This campground is a bit smaller than some of the other RV parks on this list, but it still has plenty of space with 60 sites. A third of these sites are right on the water.

Even if you don’t secure a waterfront site, you can easily access Douglas Lake using the campground’s boat launch.
