The Best PA Campgrounds Near Lake Erie
Anyone planning to camp near Lake Erie and spend time at the lake should look for campsites at one of the following campgrounds.
Lampe Campground
Lampe Campground is a lakefront campground in Erie, PA.
It’s a particularly great campground for campers looking for a waterfront RV site for a few nights of camping on Lake Erie.
All 42 of the campsites at Lampe Campground have water and electric hookups for RVs.
A number of the campsites can accommodate tents, too.
The campsites at Lampe Campground are not available for seasonal camping.
There are plenty of outdoorsy activities to do near Lampe Campground. This campground has a public boat launch and it’s near companies that offer boat rentals and fishing charters. It’s also right across from Presque Isle State Park.

Sara’s Campground
Sara’s Campground is another waterfront campground in Erie, PA.
This private campground is the best place for tent camping right on the shore of Lake Erie.
There are over 100 campsites at Sara’s Campground including tent sites right on the beach. There are also wooded campsites for tents, RVs, and trailers.
Campsites can be reserved for overnight trips or on a seasonal basis.
There are lots of things to do at the campground and in the area around it. The campground is conveniently located at the western end of Presque Isle State Park and near all of the things to do in Erie. On site there is a playground, a game room, and basketball.

Virginia’s Beach Campground
Virginia’s Beach Campground is in North Springfield, PA near the border with Ohio.
This private, waterfront campground is ideal for campers seeking a seasonal campground on Lake Erie.
Virginia’s Beach Campground primarily caters to seasonal camping but also has overnight campsites available for both tents and RVs. Some of the 100 campsites are right on the lake and others are more secluded in the woods.
This campground is great for any campers who want to have fun both on and off the water. It has kayak rentals and a private boat launch for exploring Lake Erie. Within the campground there is a catch and release fishing pond, 46 acres of woods with trails, and a playground.

Pine Lane Campground
Pine Lane Campground is in East Springfield, PA. It’s on the opposite side of Erie Bluff State Park from Lake Erie.
This is another great campground not too far from Lake Erie that offers something for every style of camping. It primarily caters to seasonal camping but some of the campground’s 100 sites are open for overnight camping for RVs and tents.
The 24-acre campground is a good home base to explore the area around Lake Erie. It has plenty of amenities for a comfortable stay including showers, laundry, a pool, and a campground store.
